  3. Discounts are not cumulative.
  4. The Alliance Française de Jersey is closed for one week over Easter, two weeks at Christmas and five weeks in July/August.
  5. Our teachers have signed contracts with the Alliance Française de Jersey which do not allow them to teach privately students who have first been introduced by the Alliance. We ask that our students respect this policy.
  6. The Alliance Française de Jersey reserves the right to refuse admission.
  7. Any complaint or commendation can be made in writing to the Director (director@afjersey.com).

GROUP CLASSES
  1. Please note that we open a class for four students. If a class has less than four students, students will be asked to join another class. At management's discretion, classes with less than three students can be kept open. Each two-hour class will then be reduced to 1h30 minutes, and for classes with only two students, each two-hour class will be reduced to one hour. Conversation classes with one or two students will be reduced to 30 minutes and 45 minutes for three students.
  2. Unless otherwise specified, our classes are limited to 8 students per class. Only full payment of the enrolment fees reserves your place on a course. Please note that we operate on a first come, first serve policy.
  3. Any returning adult student wishing to benefit from the 10% early enrolment discount must make the payment before 8.30 pm on the deadline date for that session. Early bird dates are August 15 for the September session and December 15 for the January session. Doesn't apply to conversation or private classes.
  4. A 10% family discount is applied if more than one member of a family is registered to a group class.
  5. Introduce a friend, colleague or family member to the AFJ as a new student gives you a 10% discount on your next course. This discount can only be claimed by the exiting student/member and is only valid when both persons register at the same time, for the same session, and in person.
  6. REFUNDS BEFORE THE CLASS HAS STARTED - Tuition fees are refundable only if requested in writing to the Director (director@afjersey.com) before the first class of the course. The following charges will apply: £30 if the written request is received more than one week before the course starts, 30% of the total course fee if the request is received after this.
  7. AFTER THE CLASS HAS STARTED - Course fees cannot be refunded under any circumstances once the first class of the course has taken place. The Alliance Française de Jersey cannot accept any responsibility for unforeseen changes in students' circumstances (family, employment, health, etc.) that may prevent attendance. Credit notes (valid for one term) may be issued at management's discretion up until the third class of the course has taken place. Credit notes must be requested in writing to the Director (director@afjersey.com).
  8. ONLINE / ONSITE - We require students to tell us whether they want to participate in a class online or onsite for each session. To allow teachers to prepare their lesson, we require 72 hours' notice in case a student wants to change its form of attendance.
  9. CATCH-UP SESSIONS - Up to two 30-minute catch-ups per session can be arranged for £15 each. Please note that the catch-up may not be with your usual teacher as it will depend on teachers availability.
PRIVATE CLASSES
  1. PRIVATE TUITION CANCELLATION - With at least 24 hours' notice, the lesson can be rescheduled. With less than 24 hours' notice, the lesson is charged for as stated and cannot be rescheduled. Replacement classes can be scheduled only within the duration of the contract, provided that the tutor concerned is available. Contracts of five hours are valid for three months form the date of the first class, contracts of 16 hours are valid for six months. After this period, you will be asked to purchase a new contract.
  2. ONLINE / ONSITE - To allow teachers to prepare their lesson, we require a 48 hours' notice in case you would like to change your form of attendance (online or onsite).
