The French Section of the Société Jersiaise organizes a conference with D-Day Veteran Clive Kemp and writer Chris Stone to introduce Clive’s fascinating biography called “Stinker’s Nine Lives”. The book retraces Clive’s life from a young boy in Jersey to his enrollment in the D-Day landing until now. The book provides all sorts of different feelings to the reader from tears of laughter to sadness which shows how well the book is written. You instantly get into the atmosphere and could actually hear Clive telling his story.
Clive is a D-Day Veteran and survived so many terrible experiences. He does not like to be called a Hero but for us all, he truly is alongside his fellow comrades who fell on the Normandy Landing Beaches that morning of the 6th June 1944.
The conference will start by a presentation of the book by Chris Stone followed by a session of questions from Hautlieu Students and members of the Societe and the Section Francaise.
The conference will take place at Hautlieu School from 12.30 to 13.30 and is free of charge.
The Section would like to thank Nick Falle, Headteacher at Hautlieu School, for hosting the conference.
