Bonjour ! I spent the last ten years working abroad in the education and cultural fields, but I originally grew up not far from here, in Normandy. I have landed on the island in August 2015 after spending three years in southern Africa as Director of Alliance Française and French honorary consul. I am very passionnately French, but I also love my adoptive anglophone culture. The Alliance Française is a great place to learn French language and find out more about the life and culture of French people, in an interactive and fun course. Our team of expert teachers is decidated to building up your confidence to speak and to prepare you to communicate with French people. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any question : [email protected]

I am the other Camille, freshly arrived in St Helier (September 2016). I chose to teach French as a Foreign Language because it makes it possible to travel and learn about a new country while sharing my language and culture. After living in Peru, New Zealand and Canada, I wanted to stay closer to France and my family for work. And Jersey gave me this opportunity. I did my Bachelor in Foreign Languages (English as a major, German and Japanese as minors) in Angers and Dublin (for an Erasmus semester). Angers is a beautiful town with a beautiful medieval castle and a very peaceful way of life along the Loire river. I decided then to stay in Angers for my MA in teaching French as a foreign language which I put on hold in 2012 to enjoy the life of a teaching assistant in Auckland, New Zealand. Once I was done with my research, I left again for a job of TA in Lethbridge, Alberta, the cowboy province of Canada. I'm passionate about languages and I might try to learn some Jèrriais while here. I'm looking forward to get started on this new Jersey adventure and I hope to see you soon at the Alliance Française.

Bonjour tout le monde ! Three weeks ago I have decided to settle down in Jersey for a wee while and as I came from Brittany, I ain't afraid of no cold ! My family has been a host family since several years. We are hosting foreign students and guide them daily through their French learning. Growing up in this multicultural environment made me become a French teacher. Passionate by language awareness I obtained a BA in Psychology and Educational Sciences. Then, to be able to teach French as a Foreign Language, I did a BA in Language and Linguistic Sciences. Last year, I have completed my Master Degree in Multilingual and Intercultural Communication while I was working as a Modern Language Assistant in Glasgow, Scotland. Most of the time you will see me in several primary schools on the island, teaching French to the pupils through funny, playful, and educational activities. The rest of the time I will be working at the Alliance Française. "Minds are like parachutes, they only function when they are open". To learn a language is to learn another way of thinking but it is also to learn a different culture's customs. I am looking forward to see you soon at the Alliance Française to share with you French and Brittany culture. Kenavo !to come !

Bonjour ! I moved out in Jersey last summer to join my husband who had already started to work here, and I dont' regret it ! I have lived in several regions of France and also in Italy, and Jersey reminds me of my childhood. I am a teacher for primary classes, a second career after a first one in telecommunications , as I decided to change profession when I had my second child. I love painting, I used to do it a lot when I was living in Nice, and I also practice tennis, and , since I came to Jersey, rowing!

Bonjour tout le monde ! Little bird coming from Burgundy, I have always wanted to be a French teacher. My love for languages and discovering different cultures first brought me to Italy, where I taught French at the Alliance Française of Cuneo and in primary schools. Then I flew to Chicago where I was a French teacher at the University of Chicago. This summer, I came back to our beloved Europe in order to start a new pedagogical adventure here, in Jersey. I am really excited to be part of the Alliance Française of Jersey. I look forward to meeting you and discovering your beautiful island. A bientôt !

Bonjour à tous ! Originally from the Loire Valley, I soon felt the need to travel around : I always loved discovering other cultures, languages, and I knew very early that my future job would involve quite a bit of travelling. I went to live in Rennes, Brittany, after high school and took advantage of my studying career to go to Spain for a year (for an erasmus exchange). This is where I gave my first French classes, and the choice was made : coming back to France, i entered a French teaching career. I then went to Argentina to teach in the Universidad Nacional de Tucuman, and the USA, where i worked in a Liberal Arts College lost in the corn fields of the Midwest. Both experiences confirmed my love for teaching, as I never learned as much than since I am a teacher. Living in a new place, enter a new institution, and most importantly students, are a constant source of wonder. I won't be in short of any of this here : this is my first time working in an Alliance Française and living on an island. after only a week of being here, I made my mind :Jersey is beautiful, and I already love it !
