Camille Perdereau

Director

Camille arrived in Jersey in August 2015 to take over Martin Lafitte as Director of Alliance Française de Jersey. After a BA in English Literature from Rennes University, Camille chose a double degree: a Master’s degree in French as a foreign language and training engineering from ULCO (Boulogne-sur-mer) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Canterbury Christ Church University.

Bonjour ! I spent the last ten years working abroad in the education and cultural fields, but I originally grew up not far from here, in Normandy. I’ve landed on the island in August 2015 after spending three years in southern Africa as Director of Alliance Française and French honorary consul. I’m delighted to take over Martin’s position and take up the challenge of expanding the Francophonie and Francophilie on the island. I am passionate about French language and culture, and can’t wait to share that with you! Come and meet us at our offices in Library place.

Stefan Rousseau

Administrative Assistant

Stefan arrived in Jersey in May 2005 from Provence with his wife whom grew on “the rock”. Stefan had many different jobs for the past 22 years in all sectors from salesman (mostly) to assistant relationship manager to copywriter or website editor and marketing. On top of his job at the AF, he is now running his sole trading company, Stef Entertainment offering Dj services as well as mobile cinema services but also event organisation.

“Bonjour à tous. The Alliance Française being my first charity/non-profit employer, I really enjoy myself in this new environment and love being able to use my vast and varied experience to assist Camille in the administration of the Alliance but also organising, promoting and introducing its Cine-Club as well as other cultural events. On top of this day job (the first one I really want to stay with), I am also the resident Dj (Dj Stefunk) for the cocktail bar Ce Soir every Friday and Saturday. I really believe that Jersey need to strengthen its link with France on a linguistic and cultural level as it is paramount for its future to know its roots better and I intend to be part of this direction. So stay tuned for more artistic and cultural events from the AF as well as the French section of the Société Jersiaise. A trés bientôt!”

I am the other Camille, freshly arrived in St Helier (September 2016). I chose to teach French as a Foreign Language because it makes it possible to travel and learn about a new country while sharing my language and culture. After living in Peru, New Zealand and Canada, I wanted to stay closer to France and my family for work. And Jersey gave me this opportunity. I did my Bachelor in Foreign Languages (English as a major, German and Japanese as minors) in Angers and Dublin (for an Erasmus semester). Angers is a beautiful town with a beautiful medieval castle and a very peaceful way of life along the Loire river. I decided then to stay in Angers for my MA in teaching French as a foreign language which I put on hold in 2012 to enjoy the life of a teaching assistant in Auckland, New Zealand. Once I was done with my research, I left again for a job of TA in Lethbridge, Alberta, the cowboy province of Canada. I'm passionate about languages and I might try to learn some Jèrriais while here. I'm looking forward to get started on this new Jersey adventure and I hope to see you soon at the Alliance Française.

Bonjour ! I arrived in Jersey in September 2016 to work for the Alliance française. Last year, I used to work in Germany where I had a great experience teaching French. I am a great fan of the British culture and the UK in general. I travelled there a lot and also I lived in Leeds for one year. However, Jersey is very different from what I am used to see and I already fell in love with the atmosphere and the landscapes of this place. I really love teaching to children so I am really glad the Alliance gave me this amazing opportunity. I also like playing music and trekking on the weekend. À très vite !

Bonjour! My name is Anais, I arrived in Jersey in July 2016 and I started to work for the Alliance Française in September. I love nature, marine life and art. I also like to travel around the world and to work in different places and environments. I come from Normandy where I taught biology, communication and French for young adults who prepare exams, and I work as a photographer too. I've lived in Canada, Australia, Spain and a part of my family lives in the USA where I often go. It's a great experience to help students and share my French culture here in Jersey. My goal is to make them love French and I hope that it can help them to travel, study, meet people and discover the world ! A bientôt !

Bonjour tout le monde ! Three weeks ago I have decided to settle down in Jersey for a wee while and as I came from Brittany, I ain't afraid of no cold ! My family has been a host family since several years. We are hosting foreign students and guide them daily through their French learning. Growing up in this multicultural environment made me become a French teacher. Passionate by language awareness I obtained a BA in Psychology and Educational Sciences. Then, to be able to teach French as a Foreign Language, I did a BA in Language and Linguistic Sciences. Last year, I have completed my Master Degree in Multilingual and Intercultural Communication while I was working as a Modern Language Assistant in Glasgow, Scotland. Most of the time you will see me in several primary schools on the island, teaching French to the pupils through funny, playful, and educational activities. The rest of the time I will be working at the Alliance Française. "Minds are like parachutes, they only function when they are open". To learn a language is to learn another way of thinking but it is also to learn a different culture's customs. I am looking forward to see you soon at the Alliance Française to share with you French and Brittany culture. Kenavo !to come !

Bonjour ! I moved out in Jersey last summer to join my husband who had already started to work here, and I dont' regret it ! I have lived in several regions of France and also in Italy, and Jersey reminds me of my childhood. I am a teacher for primary classes, a second career after a first one in telecommunications , as I decided to change profession when I had my second child. I love painting, I used to do it a lot when I was living in Nice, and I also practice tennis, and , since I came to Jersey, rowing!
